Overview

Online training programs are currently available to persons with a KAUST email. However as the program name suggests, we anticipate making the training program available to the KAUST Community at large in the near future.


The courses are available inSalute,Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). They are quite interactive with presentations, videos and quizzes. Participants will be able to print their own certificates on successful completion of each course.

Online Course List

EMS Awareness Training

Description: This training introduces the concept of Environmental Management System (EMS) and International Standard Organization 14001, it describes KAUST EMS program, and familiarizes participants with KAUST's major environmental risks and controls.

Duration: 30 minutes
​Waste Management Training

Description: This training is intended for staff who manage work that generates hazardous and/or non-hazardous wastes such as hydrocarbon, biomedical, construction, universal, organic, and demolition wastes. Participants will be familiarized with the requirements of KAUST's Waste Management Procedure, including waste handling, storage, treatment and disposal.

Duration: 30 minutes
Wastewater Management Training

Description: ​This training is intended for staff who manage work that generates or handle waste water that may be potentially contaminated such as dewatering, sewage, industrial, lift station, marine vessel, laboratory effluents, and similar. Participants will be familiarized with the requirements of KAUST's Wastewater Management Procedure including inventory maintenance and monitoring.

Duration: 30 minutes
Spill Prevention Control and Counter Measure Training

Description: ​This training is intended for staff who manage work that involves the storage and transfer of oil and oil based substances in equipment or devices such storage tanks, drums, transformers, oil-water separators, pumps, emergency generators, and similar. Participants will be familiarized with the requirements of KAUST's SPCC Procedure including inventory maintenance and spill response.

Duration: 30 minutes
​Air Quality Management Training

Description: ​this training is intended for staff who manage work that involves the emission of combustion by-products in either stationary or mobile sources, fugitive pollutants, noise, odor sources. Participants will be familiarized with the requirements of KAUST's Air Quality Management Procedure including inventory maintenance and emission controls.

Duration: 30 minutes
Chemical Management Training

Description: ​This training is intended for staff who manage work that involves purchase, use, storage, and disposal of chemicals for operation and maintenance at KAUST. Participants will be familiarized with the requirements of KAUST's Chemical Management Procedure. Note: This procedure does not apply to research activities and laboratories.

Duration: 30 minutes
​​Annual Environmental Refresher Training

Description: ​This training is intended for all who manage or undertake operational work at KAUST. Participants will be familiarized with all of KAUST's environmental requirements, including waste, spill prevention, wastewater, chemical use, and air quality.
